Removable, Washable or Waterproof? Specifying Dog Bed Covers
A removable dog bed cover is not automatically machine washable. A washable cover is not automatically waterproof. Specify the component, care method and evidence separately before putting any of these claims on your product listing.
Start with the component, not the marketing word
A pet mattress may have an outer cover, an inner protective layer and a support core. Confirm which of these are included in the quotation. The outer fabric, bottom panel, seams and zipper may have different constructions; a statement about one material does not describe the complete assembled bed.
For Senzero’s pet mattress options, cover details are project-specific. Do not infer a universal washing method or water-protection level from the collection name or photo.
Separate three different questions

For example, evidence relating to a top-panel fabric does not by itself establish the performance of the zipper or seams. Ask what the evidence actually covers rather than assuming that the whole bed can be advertised the same way.
Request usable care instructions
Before sample approval, request written instructions for the exact cover material and construction. Ask about washing method, temperature if applicable, drying method, whether the cover should be closed before washing, and how it should be refitted. Do not invent care-label symbols or copy instructions from a different fabric.
A practical sample check is to photograph and measure the cover before cleaning, follow the proposed care instructions, and then check fit, zipper operation, seams and appearance. Agree how many repetitions and what change is acceptable before calling this a pass. This check is not a substitute for a formal test when one is required.
Keep the support core out of assumptions
A removable cover can allow the cover and core to be handled separately. It does not establish that a coir core, spring unit or complete mattress may be soaked or machine washed. Obtain separate care guidance for each supplied component, and make those differences clear to the end customer.
If replacement covers are part of your sales plan, request a separate quotation and matching size reference. Confirm whether a replacement cover fits the approved finished mattress, including its height and edge shape—not only its length and width.
Use precise copy after verification
A specification template is: “The [named component] can be removed using [opening]. Clean using [confirmed instructions]. Water protection applies to [defined areas] under [documented conditions].” Fill in only the details supported by the approved sample and documentation. If water performance has not been established, leave out the waterproof claim.
